The art of Aikido was founded by a Japanese master named Morihei Ueshiba, who was already highly skilled in a large number of traditional martial arts. His art came to incorporate both armed and empty handed techniques and it wasn't long before it attracted a large number of skilled students.

Katori Shinto Ryu

The Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu is a classical style of swordsmanship that was founded in 1447 by a man named Iizasa Chosai Ienao. It consists of a number of different skills such as sword, staff, halberd, spear and the combined use of the long and short sword.

Judo was founded by Jigoro Kano and has become both a traditional martial art and modern Olympic sport. It makes a great form of exercise that can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Those who would like to compete and win trophies will be glad to know that there are many contests organized that can be entered.
